About
I use a positive reinforcement training approach to build the behaviors that you want while eliminating the behaviors you don’t want
My name is Markus Milligan and I am a graduate of Animal Behavior College. I also hold a certification through the Karen Pryor Academy for Shelter Training and Enrichment. I have been working with dogs for over a decade and have experience in shelter and rescue settings, as well as working with pet owners. I am a constant student of animal behavior and learning theory. I train with compassion and put the needs of my learner first. I believe that there is always a way to implement a positive reinforcement strategy to alter behavior or train new skills.
I provide dog training and behavioral modification services in the Humboldt County area. My focus areas are in helping Reactive Dogs, Basic Skills training for dogs and humans, Problem Solving, Husbandry, and much more.
Training is a two way conversation between pet and handler. My aim is to improve communication lines between handler and dog, and to provide tools for a lifetime of positive learning experiences.
“Spend more time praising the behaviors you want and you will spend less time correcting the behaviors you do not want.”
